Rex and Peach
     Rex & Peach
Rex is seen above (the black gerbil) with his past mate Peach who sadly passed away.  Peach was actually a male that was thought to be a female originally.  Rex is the father of about twenty-five gerbil pups (I did not keep them all for myself!) .  Ginny is the mother of these pups.  Rex is very active for his age (he is about three).  If I fill the cage up with sticks, he chews them all up in less than a day!

   Ginny
Ginny is the mother of over twenty-five gerbil pups in only four litters.  She now has been separated from Rex (see left) until further notice.  Ginny is a very tame gerbil and will allow me to pet her whenever I open the door of her cage.  On August 4, 2001, I purchased a white female gerbil for Ginny's mate.  Ginny has permanently "retired" from breeding and can now relax.  The new gerbil's name is Rosie (my sister named her).  Rosie is a healthy gerbil, but is not quite as active as Ginny.

Bruno and Bigboss (as seen on both sides) sadly passed away just over a year ago.  They both reached the age of three and a half.  After Bruno went, Bigboss could live without him and died only about two months later.  It was impossible to pair him up with another male because of his age.  They now rest in peace together.
Peach (Rex's mate) passed away about half a year ago.  It was a shock because she seemed to be in perfect health the previous day.  The strange part is that she was.  After a short amout of time, it was found that she was tragically and fatally wounded by the cat that managed to get through my bedroom door that is usually always closed, not to mention the fact that the cat is usually not even in the house.
She now rests in peace near Bruno and Bigboss.
