Gazzilli is a convention in constructive bidding to be used in the auctions 1 - 1 and 1/1 - 1NT. The 2 rebid is artificial and includes many strong hands as well as the hands typically included into 2. The version described here is used in the E2HAA system, which means that opener has shown 13+ HCP or both majors. The base ranges therefore are 13 - 17 HCP for weak hands and 18+ for strong hands.
The starting point for Gazzilli is the auction 1 - 1NT (forcing). Responder has a range of approximately 0 - 10 HCP. Opener's rebids now are:
1 - 1NT (forcing) - ?

After the 2 rebid, opener returns to his first suit to show the weak variation, all other bids show the strong variation. Bids of 2NT and higher are similar to direct rebids of 2NT and higher, only stronger. Two of the other major shows nondescript hands: 1 - 1NT - 2 - 2 - ?
