Gazzilli

Gazzilli is a convention in constructive bidding to be used in the auctions 1 - 1 and 1/1 - 1NT. The 2 rebid is artificial and includes many strong hands as well as the hands typically included into 2. The version described here is used in combination with the Kaplan Interchange.

The starting point for Gazzilli is the auction 1 - 1NT (forcing). It is assumed that responder bids after 1 with most 5-counts. Opener's 2 rebid either shows a strong hand or is (semi)natural with . The combinations included into 2 are limited by the fact that 2 shows at least three cards. Opener's rebids now are:
