1/35 Dragon T-34/76 (mod. 1941)
This Dragon kit include photoetch parts, metal cables, a
printed card for the engine, as
well as decals for tank of
1st Guards Tank Brigade. However, there's an error with the photoetch engine mesh. If assembled according
to instruction, the mesh will be
under the engine cover instead of flushing with the surface. Trimming
of the mesh
can correct the problem. A spare engine cover with molded mesh details is
also included with the kit.
This tank is depicted as how it will appear during late
winter. The white washes are starting to wear off with some
areas of the white yellowed and stained. Instead of using the decal, I finished the tank
with reference to the boxart.
I do not know if
the wavy lines are accurate as the only photo and a profile I found on
internet have straight lines.
Since these were field
applied camouflage were unique to the T-34 of 1st Guards Tank Brigade, I assume
not all 16 T-34 were of same pattern.
The model is finished with vallejo paints with oil paint
washes.
It is not fully completed. Few small parts are not fitted as well as the
application of mud.
