"Third Heaven the Great Band that Never Was"
1995 - 2000
Third Heaven was a band that my brother, cousins, high school friend and I started...back in 1995. We never recorded, some videos do exsit but rare and we just never where big time not even locally.

It was my senior year of high school that the above mention people started this band. Actually we were the church band but since all of us were already together we thought it be cool to do this little side band...though we never did become a side band cuz part of the problem that helped fuel our breaking apart was that we couldn't find a distinction between church band and indie band.

Since our pastor was involved with the church band so it was obvious he would be the "manager" of the church band. We knew and understood this but problems began when he automatically assume he was also the the manager of our little inde band.
The year was 1998 and here's the full line up at our peak ...after this gig the band took a turn for the worse and eventually broke up.
Only two pixs I have of the band...i'm sure I have some in scrap books some where too bad they are really small...here we are practicing at the church
Our mistake was that we never spoke up about it. I guess cuz we were young or very influential...maybe cuz we were just rookies...and were afraid of trying to manage the band on our own. We didn't say a word. The fact is we could not make it on our own. We did not even own equipment or vehicles to
carry equipment if we had it. So in a way this is true we were not ready for this band...today I know it was just a stepping stone for my brother and I. Cuz if we had not gone through that we woudn't be where we are today.

Anyways getting back to the story our pastor and an uncle were the managers...they did all the booking for the band but we did not have many gigs. Part of the problem is because they were asking too much money for us to play. I mean who is going to pay for a band they've never heard of or seen play anywhere else. Plus we were'nt that good...we got better as time went own but not in the beginning. So what did our managers do? They made own shows. It was like saying "if nobody wants to the book the boys heck we'll do it on our own"...We went along with the idea cuz we were just happy to be playing...just a bunch of kids who really didn't know any better. We had no idea why we never got a gigs outside of our own self made shows....

Regarless we were happy to just be playing and honing our skills. We had some great moments together and I wouldn't change it for the world. Family is still family and that can never change. Plus I know God has things planned out for us so this was something we had to go threw in order to grow.

Anyways to make a long story short..around the later part of 1998, Hugo Jr (vocals, guitar, harmonica, song writer) is dismayed at the way the band is being run and feels that he is the only one working hard for the band decides to go back to school and start a career. Tony (lead singer, song writer) gets married and moves on with his calling in life. The three remaing members including myself are discourage and the way things end and we fall into a rut, musically, spirtually.

David Jr., Ricky and myself... our 1st gig together as a trio after Hugo Jr. and Tony had left the band...this was taken around 2001
In 2000 the guys got together for what seem to be a comeback...we played one gig in mission and did a decent job despite not playing together for a long while. Some video still exsist of that gig which current valley favorites Flood23 and Saline has seen and given me good comments on. The potential was always there but for some reason or another things never worked out. The guys spilt except for David, Ricky and myself who remain as the worship band.

In 2002 after a two year hiatus we decided to start up again just us three. As a rock worship band. We never did got to paly any gigs outside of our church services but things where starting
to look a bit better but David Jr. was going to school, Ricky got married and I was busy working and being a youth pastor. So Thrid Heaven became just a church band...but deep down inside my brother and I's heart - man did we really want a band...

It's our calling. For some reason the guys couldn't follow through but my brother and I didn't go to college or find better work cuz we knew God had given us this gift. We have a need to do it. It's a very strong drive inside us that no matter how tired we get of doing this and at times want to quit we just can't....we love it too much.

So later that year (September 2002) Ram, Rick B, Jorge B walked into our lives and SALVO  was born. We know God heard our cries and knew the desires of our hearts and He was so awesome in doing this for us. We thank Him every day for that.....
