Chapter 6
The Power
Come off it Kynoto, said Triasha, it was bound to happen sooner or later.  I have been sensing an evil growing in him ever since we found them.  Kynoto had been sulking around ever since Wantene left their company and was not doing much of anything.  We had better find shelter soon.  There is a storm coming, Triasha said suddenly to the group.  It was like clockwork.  Right after Triasha had said this, the sky clouded over and it began to rain.  This storm was ferocious and it was wreaking havoc on the dying forest, ripping up dead trees and causing them to knock over others in the process.  What is with this storm?! Triasha asked himself.

This ones goin ta be a big one, mark me on that, Xilot said slowly.

How do you know that? Kynoto asked him suspiciously.  This was the first time he had spoken since Wantene had left.

Because, I have seen all manners of storms out on the sea, but this one bes the first of its kind Ive ever spied before, the old pirate whispered to the men around him.  Now everyone looked up at the storm, which had now covered almost the entire forest and the forest was roughly around fifty kilometers in diameter.  Sensing something, Kynoto grabbed everyone and rushed them into a cave on a near by hill.  Just as they entered it, the rain came down in torrents, as if someone had just lifted a sluice gate on a river.  A stream near the shelter was now overflowing and the storm was only intensifying with every minute that passed.  What in the name of Davie Jones locker is causing this storm?! the Captain yelled over the gale.

I have no idea, Triasha answered, flabbergasted at the power of the storm.  Most of the forest floor had been flooded.

Meanwhile, at the training grounds, Lelono was also marveling at the ferocity of the storm.

Where did this come from?  We werent supposed to get any rain until next week, Lelono said, his voice saturated with amazement as he looked out of his window.  The rain seemed to be coming down in gallons now, along with the wind and lightning, the storm was unbelievable.  By now Lelono could tell something was wrong.  The forest has a lot of power, but it wouldnt destroy itself plus it doesnt have this much power.  Its just too big, Lelono continued talking to himself.  Then for some unseen reason, the rain stopped.   Intrigued, Lelono ventured out side to see what had occurred.  He looked up to see the blackest clouds he had ever seen.  There were several flashes of lightning, and then something strange happened. Lelono was standing in front of Wantenes grave, searching for even a miniscule amount of power when a bolt of lightning hit it.  The shock made Lelono jump back wards, and then he slipped on some mud and fell to the ground.  He looked to Wantenes grave and saw that it had caught fire and all he could do was sit there and watch his past burn away in front of him.  Then to Lelonos greatest surprise, the flame turned blue and he felt an extremely horrific power.

At that exact moment back at Kynotos camp Triasha, Rouin, and Kynoto noticed the power.  They were having a debate about what they were to do after the storm had stopped but now they all stared in the direction the power was coming from, not saying a word.  Even Xilot could sense something was not right and he couldnt even feel the powers of others for he had not the skill of Trianchu.  Triasha stood up and said, his voice shaking with fear,

K-kynoto, do you feel that?

Yes, I do, and what in the hell is it?  Its immense.  The power level is over six billon and.its still rising!! Kynoto shouted in disbelief.  Okay, okay.  Lets keep our heads clear.  We will go investigate this monstrosity.  Xilot, you and your crew must stay here.  If you go youll only get in the way and die, Kynoto said sternly to the pirates.

Youll get no argument from me laddy.  Even tough I cant use Trianchu; I can feel something in the air.  Its more then enough to make me want to stay righ where I am.  Alright ya bunch of swashbucklers, get inside and keep yer mouths shut! Xilot commanded his troop.  He nodded one last time to Kynoto and entered the cave.  Triasha covered up the cave with a boulder, but left several holes around the edges so that the pirates could breath and eventually so that they could use their explosives to get out.  Kynoto, Triasha, and Rouin then left in the direction of the power, unknowingly going to face their worst fears.

Back at the grounds, Lelono was looking at the grave of his recently deceased son in amazement.  He got up and went to go lay down for a while, he wasnt felling all to well.  He was about to open the door, when an explosion sounded and nearly gave him a heart attack.  As he looked back at the grave, he noticed that the flames were now black and that there was someone standing in them.

Nono. it cant be! he shouted.

Oh but it is, the shadowed figure said with a malicious grin, Father.  Wantene had been revived, but there was something different about him besides the evil that now filled his heart.  Now, where are Kynoto and those other fools, I have a score to settle, Wantene said, his voice now high pitched.  Ahh, where they come, Wantene chuckled.  When Kynoto landed, his voice filled with shock and dread as he said,

How did you gain that power Wantene?

It was very easy actually Kynoto.  I just let myself be killed and I had my storm revive me.  When that happened the forest gave me its power.  It viewed me as a god and sacrificed its power to save me, Wantene hissed. Now get ready, I have a score to settle with you three, the blood will flow today; whether it be mine or yours, it will flow!
