| "Before teachers can begin to develop integration skills, they must realize and understand how the integration of technology can enhance teaching and learning. Research shows that using technology in the classroom motivates students, encourages them to become problem solvers, and creates new avenues to explore information. Teachers also have found that using computers or computer-related technologies can capture and hold students' attention. Interactive technologies, such as software applications, multimedia software, reference guides, tutorials, animations, simulations and the Web, are especially engaging as they allow students to determine the flow of information, review concepts, practice skils, do in-depth research, and more. Technologies that provide interactivity, learner control, and student engagement are a natural choice for improving instruction. When used properly, technology is extremely beneficial in the learning process." Shelly, Cashman, Gunter, "Integrating Technology in the Classroom, 3rd Edition," 2004. In this workshop, you have explored the basic theories behind technology integration. You have researched learning styles and learned a little about your own. Effective search techniques have been explored. The new learning tool, the WebQuest, has been introduced and experimented with. Cyberethics, netiquette and the basics of good web design alos have been introduced. As has expanding all that you have learned to the world as a whole. You've constructed a website with graphics and possibly animation and sound. And you've posted communications with your colleagues on a Forum. You now have the tools to use computers effectively and intelligently in your classroom. Think how far you have come in just a short time. In this last mod, we will use our assignment time to tweak and refine our website. Perhaps you would like to go back and try some things you did not have time for when you first completed the mod. Adding sound, animations, graphics, buttons, horizonal lines and backgrounds can immeasurably contribute to the effectiveness of the pages that you have created Below is the link to help you download and upload digital background from the Internet.
