I have been building websites here in Geocities with my students for years. Geocities announced in late April of 2009 that they are no longer taking free accounts. Unfortunately, I had no notice of this.
Therefore, we will be building a free website in another location.

Build your website (I chose the small business template, but I think the Personal template might be better suited to some of your needs, it's your choice.)
I will provide written directions here later, but right now, as I am typing this, it is mid-April 2009 and I found out yesterday we needed to change website builders. I still like Geocities a lot, but it looks like it will be for paying customers only. If you later decide you want a webisite here, after summer 2009, when Geocities announces their new plans, I will be glad to give you that information here, and directions on how to build a website here. I am also researching other sites and will be adding them. This will not affect the course you are taking, and all will be well.

Go to www.flamingtext.com
Click on "Headings" or "Buttons"
Choose a style (ex. "Stained Glass"), then in the text box, delete their words and add yours, and click on "Create"
Wait 15 - 30 seconds, then right click on new image, and save to your computer; check out the directions in mod 10 on how to upload a graphic from the Internet and put then new header or text button on your site.
In Mod 9, you can put the URL for your website on the Forum and then e-mail me and let me know that your page is up AND also type your URL in the e-mail to me.
Type "Mods 8 & 9-comp.int.-your name" in the Subject line of your e-mail.
