best locations are in My Documents, on your Desktop, or on a 3˝ Floppy you have
placed in the disk drive.
Now that you have all the web pages saved, you can begin to edit these pages, make them into your own personal pages. Depending on the situation, one might have to give credit to the original creator, however this is not one of those cases.
1.
To
retrieve these files, go to the location you chose to save the web pages in.
a.
Use
the Start menu or an icon on your Desktop to retrieve pages from My Documents,
then open each page by right clicking on the page’s icon and selecting the Edit
option.
b.
If
you saved on your Desktop, just right click on the individual web page icons,
and then click Edit.
c.
Use
the Start menu and go to the My Computer option, or use the My Computer icon on
your Desktop to access your 3˝ inch Floppy.
Once you have double clicked on the 3˝ Floppy option, right click on
each web page to and then click Edit.

Once
you have clicked on that option the web page will open in Microsoft Word with
various boxes and tabs. You can now use
these boxes and previously set tabs to edit the page just as you would any
other document in Word.
a.
Delete
the words on the page, and replace them with the appropriate information.
b.
To
change the Font, go to the Format menu at the top of the screen, and click on
the Font option.
c.
To
make a background, go to the Format menu and click on Background. Sometimes not all options appear, so you
might have to click on a ▼ at the
bottom of the drop down menu.

After
making these alterations, it is always a good idea to save your work. You can do this by going to your File menu
and choosing the Save option or by clicking on the icon of a 3˝ inch Floppy
disk. (Do not change the name that the
computer will automatically give you to save your page as.)
Now that your web pages are edited to your liking, it is time to post them on the Internet. It will save you a lot of time and steps if you make sure that you are completely satisfied with the pages you post in this part because you will have to repeat all of the sections of this part if you wish to edit the pages again after this point

Go on the Internet to
http://geocities.yahoo.com and enter in your Yahoo ID and Password.

Click on the link to
the File Manager located in the Advanced Toolbox on the right side of the
page. Another page may appear before
the File Manager opens, just click on the Open File Manager link.

Click on the button
that says Upload Files located on the right side of the page.
4.
Click on the Browse
button located to the left of the open rectangles.
5.
Where it says Look
in: , choose the location where you
have your web pages saved. (Use the
same method as in Part Two, Step One, do this for every page you want to upload
at this time.)
6.
When all the rectangles
you can use or wish to use are filled, scroll down to the bottom of the page
and check off the box next to the text that says Automatically change ".htm" extensions to
".html"
7.
Now click on the button
just above the check boxes labeled Upload Files.
8.
The upload should be
successful, and you can continue back to the File Manager by clicking on that
link.
9.
These pages are now on
the Internet, and you can view them by clicking on the view link located on the
same line as each web page.
Congratulations, you are done creating your webquest.
If you should ever want to change any of your webquest pages, you have to do
PART TWO and PART FOUR over again for the pages you wish to edit. Editing these pages using anything other
than Microsoft Word (such as Geocities/ Yahoo) will not work properly.
