| Torpedo Kutaisi beat Dinamo Tbilisi 1-0 at the Givi Kiladze stadium as the Georgian League resumed after the winter break. Dinamo started the game top of the table two points clear of Torpedo and three points clear of both Lokomotiv Tbilisi and WIT Georgia Tbilisi. By the end of the match Dinamo were down to 4th place after both Lokomotiv and WIT Georgia won coupled with their defeat. The match at the Givi Kiladze stadium attracted a decent crowd of 12,000 to the game. It was evident from the start that both teams wanted to win the game and the fans were treated to and exciting and fast moving game. The important winning goal was scored by young midfielder David Gamezardashvili on 53 minuites. Shota Babunashvili swung in a cross which Andrei Poroshin flicked on to the path of Gamezardashvili who comfortably found the net. Tempers flared in the game and Torpedo's hero Gamezardashvili and Dinamo's Lado Akhalaia were both sent off on 63 minuites. Dinamo's next game is against WIT Georgia Tbilisi at home and they will want to get back to winning ways to keep the pressure on Torpedo. Torpedo's next game is a home tie with Kolkheti poti who were defeated 6-0 at home by Lokomotiv Tbilisi in the last round. |
