| Georgi Nemsadze is the captain of the Georgian National Team and is the most capped Georgian player ever with over 60 caps. Nemsadze began his career at Shevardeni Tbilisi before moving onto Dinamo Tbilisi and then his big break joining Turkish side Trabzonspor. Georgi then moved to Swiss champions Grasshoppers Zurich and this was where he made his name. Georgi was injured while at Grasshoppers and couldn't get back into the first team so he moved to Italian side Reggiana. However his stay in Italy turned into a nightmare as Georgi couldn't settle and his club were fighting relegation. His contract was terminated at Reggiania by mutual consent and he returned to Georgia putting himself in the shop window playing some matches for Dinamo and Lokomotiv Tbilisi near the end of the season. Georgi had a trial with Scottish side Hibernian before eventually signing for Dundee on a free transfer. Georgi had an excellent first season at Dundee and quickly becam a fans favourite. He also helped Dundee secure his Georgian international colleagues Zurab Khizanishvili and Temuri Ketsbaia. There was interest from serveral Spanish sides and Celtic in the summer but Georgi signed a new contract at Dundee tying him at the club until 2004. However Glasgow Celtic are still said to be interested in Nemsadze after having an �600,000 bid for the midfielder turned down last summer. Nemsadze was recently released by Dundee after the club went into administration due to bad debts. He has since been on trial with Portsmouth without a contract being offered. He has since been linked with Zenit St Petersberg in Russia. |
