FC Dinamo Tbilisi, who were Umaghlesi Liga champions for ten successive seasons in the 1990s, have reclaimed the title after a three-year break.

After defeating FC Sioni Bolnisi 3-1 in the Georgian Cup final last week, Dinamo secured another victory over the same opponents by an identical scoreline on the final day of the season to take the title and complete a league and cup 'double'.

Three goals in 19 second-half minutes - from Alexandre Gogoberishvili, Vitali Daraselia and Rati Aleksidze - secured Dinamo's win, before Levan Shavgulidze's late consolation for the visitors.

"In my life, I have never set out to win two trophies in one season," said Dinamo coach Ivo Susak. "However, coaching Dinamo I was confident we could achieve this. Winning the double is a great thing."

Elsewhere Torpedo Kutaisi defeated Lokomotiv Tbilisi to take 2nd place and a UEFA Cup spot. WIT Georgia Tbilisi took third place and an Intertoto Cup spot while cup finalists Sioni Bolnisi take the other UEFA Cup place.

Milani Tsnori joined Metalurgi Zestafoni in relegation to the second division while Gorda Rustavi face a playoff with second division side Mtskheta
