While playing for Torpedo Kutaisi Valeri Abramidze was recognised as one of the best young defenders in the Georgian League. He was strong in the tackle and never gave up on any situation. He helped Torpedo Kutaisi to win two of their three championships and it was no surprise that several biggar European Teams became interested in him.
At the end of the 2001-2002 season Abramidze said he was bored of playing in the Georgian League and he eventually signed for Russian side Spartak Moscow. It took a while for Abramidze to break into the Spartak team but when he did he failed to impress much and was eventually dropped. |
