| Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. - Proverbs 14:34 It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here. -- PATRICK HENRY Of all the dispositions and habits, which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and Citizens. -- GEORGE WASHINGTON And let us with caution indulge the supposition, that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect, that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle. -- GEORGE WASHINGTON When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, "just men who will rule in the fear of God." The preservation of [our] government depends on the faithful discharge of this Duty; if the citizens neglect their Duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the Laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizen will be violated or disregarded. If [our] government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the Divine Commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the Laws. -- NOAH WEBSTER Bad men cannot make good citizens. It is impossible that a nation of infidels or idolaters should be a nation of free men. It is when a people forget God that tyrants forge their chains. -- PATRICK HENRY Early in the 20th century, America began to drift away from the founding principles that made it great. As the century progressed, every mindless, Godless, senseless, putrid heap of rotting filth from the pit of Hell was disgorged into American society and absorbed by the hearts, minds and souls of its people. We now stand at the dawn of the 21st century and survey the ruins of our shattered nation. What bombs, bullets and tyrants could not accomplish from without, has been effected from within. Modern America is the dying husk of a failed experiment in human government. How did this happen? Who is responsible? Most of us must shoulder some of the blame. Is there any teaching within the Bible, anything that the Bible proclaims to be true, that you do not believe? If so, then you are part of the problem. I was once guilty of this and so must bear some responsibility for America's downfall. Only God can rescue America from its descent into darkness, but He will not lift His hand to restore a nation whose people mock and doubt and ridicule His word, and refuse to keep His laws. A faithless, anti-God, anti-Christian, anti-Bible America... is a dead America. |
