| Carver's Outdoor Science Classroom C.O.S.C. |
| Plans continue to create Carver's Outdoor Science Classroom. We are all excited about the prospect of having an outdoor learning environment for our students. Our C.O.S.C. will include a weather station, a pond with live fish and water plants, seasonal flower and vegetable beds, a bird and squirrel sanctuary, a compost bin, and a learning experience for students kindergarten through fifth grade. Carver has been joined by Master Gardeners from around this area. Spearheading the Master Gardener group is Pat Abramason along with former mayor, Bryon Chitwood. Pat and Bryon have already been to several meetings with members of the Carver Science Committee to start plans. Pat and Bryon have enlisted the help of several experts to join us in making this dream a reality. If anyone knows of anyone that is willing to donate time or money to help this worthy cause, please contact Mrs. Teeters, Mrs. McNally, or Mrs. Walden. A special thanks to the Carver faculty who have stepped up to take on this project. Carver is great because of teachers like you. This process is not a short one, but we hope to break ground sometime during the first semester. We will write updates on how the C.O.S.C. is progressing and add pictures to show you what we are doing. A BIG thanks to all of those involved! You are the GREATEST! |
