December
Community Service
December's community service included taking individual gifts of perfume, toiletries and tissues to the adult daycare center in Midland; Donating shoes for an overseas mission program; Donating coats to the Salvation Army.
Christmas Parade
Our club entered a float in Lonaconing's annual Christmas parade. Our theme was "Sweet Dreams of Christmas" and we made a gingerbread house and one club member was a gingerbread man.





November
Salvation Army Bell-Ringing
On Saturday, November 25, some of our club members were bell-ringers for the Salvation Army's annual Christmas campaign. We were near the K-Mart entrance to the Country Club Mall in LaVale, Maryland.
Adopt-A-Highway
The Adopt-A-Highway program has been in existence for 10 years. A recent Cumberland-Times newspaper article about the program's 10th anniversary named George's Creek 4-H as one of the organizations that has been a part of the Adopt-A-Highway program for the entire 10 years. Our club cleans up a part of the highway in Midland, Maryland.

Rocky Gap Haunted Campground
George's Creek 4-H Club joined the Rocky Gap volunteers to make for a fun a scary evening for anyone brave enough to enter the "Haunted Campground". 4-H members dressed up as ghouls and ghosts to "haunt" the campground. Adult volunteers painted faces and helped young visitors make Halloween crafts. This is a yearly community service project for the club, and its one of our favorites!
Halloween Party

4-H members gathered after dark on October 30 for our annual Halloween party. Fun activities included a walk through a "haunted trail", games, food. a campfire and prizes.

State Fair
Our club took our booth and banner to the State Fair held in Timonium, Maryland. We did great! Our banner won a first place ribbon, and our booth won a third place ribbon. Four of our members had individual items for judging. They were Becky, Brandon, Jolisa and Stephanie.
