George's Creek 4-H

Club Awards 2000

President's Award: The President's Award goes to the member who served as president of the George's Creek 4-H Club in 2000. He did a very good job, keeping meetings running smoothly and representing our club. This award went to JORDAN EISENTROUT.

Clover Award: The Clover Award goes to someone who has been a coming to meetings and who has been a part of the George's Creek 4-H Club since she was a baby. She's been waiting a long time to turn 5 and become a legitimate member on paper. This award went to WISHA AHERN.

Most Growth Award: The Most Growth Award goes to a member who, when she started coming to 4-H meetings, was very shy and reserved. She really didn't talk to anyone other than her brother. But, as time went on, she came out of her shell. She started taking part in more and more activities. Recently, she gave a prepared speech at the county 4-H contest, and she did an excellent job! This award went to KENDRA EISENTROUT.

Leadership Award: The Leadership Award goes to the oldest member of the club, and someone who has been a member the longest. This member approaches every activity as a leader. She likes to be in charge, and other members look to her for advice and assistance. This award went to STEPHANIE SUTHERLAND.

Club Spirit Award: The Spirit Award goes to a member who I can tell really loves being in 4-H. She attends all the meetings and 4-H events. She likes doing community service, working on floats, being in parades, and helping out wherever she is needed. She always has a smile on her face. This year, the spirit award went to BECKY FREY.

Community Service Award: Back in June, while we were working at "Sunday in the Park", a former member came by and said, "hey, can I help". We said sure, and he stayed for the day and helped run the games. He decided he wanted to rejoin 4-H. Since then, we've been able to count on him for any community service project that we have had. Working on floats, visiting the nursing home or putting on a skit for the adult day care. The community service award went to ADAM FAZENBAKER. (No photo available for Adam Fazenbaker)

Most Typical 4-H'er Award: This award goes to the club member who exemplifies the 4-H motto, "To make the best better". He attends meetings regularly and participates in community service events. He works at all of our fundraising activities. He's reliable and dedicated. He turned in a record book. He exhibited items at the county and state fair. He took over the job of treasurer last year and has dones uch a great job that he's treasurer again this year. The "Make the best better" award goes to BRANDON FREY.

Best Attitude Award: Working without and complaint and always with a smile are the attributes of our "best attitude" award winner. RANDI RUSSELL.

Outstanding Member Award: This award is given to the club member who has brought the most recognition to the George's Creek 4-H Club in the last year. This member won champion ribbons at the county and regional prepared speech contests, and then went on to win reserve champion at the state level. She also assisted in creating a website for our club, which was the first 4-H website in Allegany County. The outstanding member award went to JOLISA STEWART.

Up and Coming Award: This award goes to younger, newer members who have gotten a taste of what 4-H is all about, who participated in several activities during the year, and who we have great hopes for in the future. The Up and Coming award goes to JONATHAN GEORGE and JEREMIAH GUINN. (No photo available for Jonathan George)
