ahem.spoffles. Kevin, in his throughly endearing way, has written the following on his website;

"
Did you know...

      The little foam thing that is often seen on the end of a microphone is
not called a spoffle. It is, in fact, called either a wind screen or a wind shield and is used to reduce the amount of wind noise picked up by the microphone. As far as... yada yada yada. I'm not going to copy it all out. should you, by some freak of chance, have not come here via there anyway, and care, you can go and look.

Anyway. this, you see, has missed the point, intentionally or otherwise, marvellously. mm. my fingers smell of strawberry gel pens. the point I was trying to make is that illustrated here (jesus, more copying out) beautifully by doctor (he's not, I don't think, really a doctor, but he just might be. and it sounds better. please, if you happen to know better, do keep me informed. I care very much.) David Moser;

"this gubblick contains many nonsklarkish english flutzpahs, but the overall pluggandisp can be glorked from context."

And he's right, damnit!

so, we come, at long last, to my point. which is: of course it's not called a spoffle. but people understand what you mean, which is all that counts. dear god did I really just write all of that? and why? now be a good individual and toddle off for a bit.
shoo.
