Round Beinn A'Ghlo, from Blair Atholl, Perthshire
By Lloyd Bower

This circular day ride has some great singletrack, many miles of land rover tracks, and includes a mix of a few long climbs with some speedy descents. The scenery deep in the Grampian Mountains is simply superb.

The total of over 35 miles includes only two miles of tarmac, and that's the initial road climb to Loch Moraig. Time, reckon on between 5 and 7 hours

More Trossachs Cycle Routes ( all from Callander )

Most of the 13 of the routes here are best started  as from Callander, but they can be joined at other points; for reasons of time I must leave this for you to check on a map. For those starting in Callander, the majority of routes either follow the old railway track or the south side of Loch Venachar. Good mix  of routes both easy for families and more demanding routes over 15 miles on off-road forest track.
The town it'self offers plenty of  B&B's  and fuel stops for the hungry cyclist.

A fatastic scenic route only 25 miles north of Glasgow.
Glenfinglass Circuit:  By Timothy Oliver

This cycle ride is in a remote and exposed location and climbs to about 2100 feet. The weather is frequently bad (it is not unknown for there to be deep snow on the top in May) and can change very quickly even in summer.
Although the circuit is not strictly cross country the 'track' is meant for rough terrain vehicles and is usually in poor condition and at the beginning of the spring you are likely to find parts of it have been washed away where streams have cut across it. There are many very fast downhill sections (or if you are coming from the opposite direction incredible uphill hikes!)
