| Ardgartan Peninsula Circuit OS Sheet 56 This is an arduous and quite long (32km) route, mainly over forest roads but with short sections on public roads and some parts where you may have to push or even carry your bike, that forms a circuit of the wild, beautiful and remote Ardgartan Peninsula. It is therefore not for the inexperienced, ill-equipped or unwary. Some sections are a long way from any form of assistance, so you should make sure you have plenty of food and drink, warm clothing and spares. The reward for all your efforts is some exhilarating cycling with a real feeling of wilderness, and fabulous views of the Clyde sea lochs. And the good news is that it is a waymarked Forestry Commission cycle trail, so navigation shouldn't be too much of a problem! |
