| Cutting Deep by Kayleigh Turner | ||||
| Come on baby. Go to sleep now. Roxanne Bird was stood over Nicole who was scrambling around her makeshift cot. The proper one was still at her mothers house, she couldnt face going round there to get it, she didnt need the hassle. Come on Nicole. Go to sleep so I can go to sleep as well. Mummys got to work in the morning, Im tired even if you arent so be a good baby and go to sleep. Roxy walked around her small room. Nikki and Anna had been so nice letting her stay, then the business with Hakkan had been awful, now Nicole. She was amazed she still had a roof over her head. Could it get any worse? She looked over at her beautiful baby girl, how could she have ever contemplated leaving her permanently? Yes, she was a perfect angel when she was like this. Everyone loved her while she was asleep. When she awoke it was a different matter, she could scream for England, louder than anyone else, ever. Roxy walked out of the room silently and into the living room where Nikki and Jack were sat cuddling on the sofa. Come on babe, lets go upstairs. Jack said with a quick wink in Roxys direction. They walked out of the room hand in hand. Roxy remembered how her and Hakkan were like that at the beginning. She couldnt bring herself to tell him about Nicole, she had really liked him. She couldnt bear it if hed have left her because of Nicole. Thats why she left her wither mum. She sat down on the couch. Even Nikki and Jack didnt want to be around her, Hakkan just wanted her for what he could get out of her, thats what hurt the most about the break-up, the feeling of worthlessness. Nicole screamed every time she went near Roxy. Anna was better with her than her own mother. That cut deeper than anything. The rejection by her own flesh and blood, her own daughter. The one person who should be loyal and faithful to her. Something else that cut deep was the knife slicing at her wrists as she cried on the cold, hard, bathroom floor. |
