L: Patrick, go back to Holly she needs you more than I do. I�ll see you back at work next week.
She goes back inside and makes herself a coffee in the staff room when Duffy walks in.
L: I can�t believe what I just did.
D: What?
L: I just turned Patrick down. I told him that Holly needed him more than I did. What have I done? Am I mad? This is the man I�ve been in love with for the last year and a half.
D: What exactly did he say?
L: He said he wanted me. What does that mean?
D: If he meant it, it means he�ll wait for you to be sure.
L: He�s not going to have to wait very long. When he comes back to work I�ll tell him that it will only work if he promises to be honest and open.
D: That seems fair enough.
Dillon walks in.
Di: I�m not interrupting am I?
Du: No I was just going.
Di: We still on for tonight?
L: I don�t think so. I need some time to get my head round everything that�s happened today.
Di: Your brother�s going to be fine.
L: Oh heck I�d forgotten about him. How is he?
Di: (Looking puzzled) They�re keeping him in overnight for observation but he�s fine.
L: Good I�m off home now anyway. See you tomorrow Dillon.
The next day Duffy and Lara were talking in the resus area.
D: Did you know Patrick was coming back to work this afternoon?
L: No, I had no idea, but I know why he�s done it.
D: Why�s that then?
L: Well the other day when I met him outside I told him I�d tell him whether I wanted to get back with him when he came back to work.
D: Oh I see. I�m going to go and ring him and say we don�t want him in until at least Thursday. That gives him time to get over the funeral.
L: It�s tomorrow isn�t it?
D: Yes it is. Are you going?
L: I don�t think it would be a good idea do you?
D: It would show your support for Holly and Patrick. I�ll be there you can come with me if you want.
L: Great thanks Duffy.
Duffy is stood outside Lara�s flat waiting for her to come down.
D: Come on Lara! It�s a funeral not a night out. How long can it take you to get ready?
Lara comes out and locks the door behind her.
D: You look stunning. Are you trying to annoy Patrick because when he sees you in that he is going to want you even more than he already does?
L: Well that was the general idea, yes!
D: Let�s go then, we don�t want to be late.
They get to the church and see Patrick with his arm round Holly looking into her eyes and talking to her.
L: So much for him wanting me!
Patrick suddenly spots Lara and walks over.
P: Lara, I err, I didn�t think you were going to come.
