When the Raven Flies

Dark cafes and endless alleys she prefers
with the stereos so loud no one can hear her scream
Friends don't understand
Enemies take bourbon shapes

Watch her love madly and hate with glee
witness the flight of the raven
as she circles in castles medievel

Whisper something in dark cafes
and wear a coat of pain
when the raven flies

Non-Crusader

Where have you been
that the dust never falls from your clothing
What climate has left you both thirsty and drenched?
I look at you and see temples
You say nothing and I hear voices

Show me this stepless road
toward castles of the meek
Lend me the armor of peace
and the shield that welcomes wounds
Flower of Glass

In the window she waits
sunlight bouncing around her
and swept aside by grey
The china in her hand rattles
and tears fall into the tea
She's forgotten to water the plants
and call about the crack in the glass

It's so easy to see the swirling dust
when the day is peaked and hot
and it's so damned hard to love someone
in the midst of pain
