Gulfstream

Soft and breezy summer night
   along the gulfstream route
Chills of tenderness as I recall us
   many years ago
These waters went around the world,
survived the ice and darkness below
to finally rest awhile in the warmth and shelter
And I am like that
heaving every anchor I can find
just to rest awhile with you
Cat's Bouquet

I close my eyes and smile
immersed in a cat's bouquet
dandy tigers
lion lilies
a collage of scents
when the ladies dance
                Marionette

She owns my eyes
and tugs them across the room
My hands are hers
       that lunge when she unfolds

All rights are waived
      and wills broken
      by the marionette's strings

But I harbor no malice
as she doesn't even feel the pull
or see the helpless state I'm in
Still.....
      she owns my eyes
                        my hands
       and maybe soon
                        much more than this
