Last year we found a small toad that had made his home in the compost pile. I looked for him this Spring but never saw him again. This summer we have had three small toads in the yard. The one I spotted in early Summer was about two inches long but he disappeared. Later I found two very tiny toads - each only about an inch or so long. One was spotted and one was an emerald green color. In late September they had both grown to about an inch and half or so long. I was able to get a picture of the spotted toad but not the little green one. I have no idea how these little fellows found our yard. There is no body of water anywhere nearby. |
