| Spiders | ||||||||||||
| We had never seen a spider like this before and were at a loss to identify it. Thanks to the friendly folks at bugguide.net it was identified as a female orb weaver in the genus Araneus. We had two of these spiders on opposite sides of the yard. Their bodies continued to grow through the summer but then we lost sight of them. We assume they gave birth to many young. | ||||||||||||
