EQUALITY
As of now, we live in the 21st Century. Yet, still the words nigger, wet back, cracker, sand-nigger, chink, gook, habib, whitey, honkey, nigger-lover, black, indian, whop, mick and so many other names that I care not to know exist in everyday vocabulary of the common person. The jokes are still there, the negative stereo-types,  and the FEAR. Things like religion, race and most of all money seperate us as humans.
Am I guilty of using these words, thinking these thoughts and feeling this fear? Yes.
WhyW Why, I ask myself at times when I allow these types of thoughts to enter in to my head. One bad experience with one person of color, one bad experience with a person of a certain ethnic background? Why? Why should I allow that to narrow my veiw of the human race? Why, should I confine myself to the prison of race or nationality? That prison yeilds to no expansion. It leads to a social and cutural prison.
The separation begins early on I believe. I know that children will be with children, no matter what their color, religion, or ethnic background. There is a bond of age and experience that adults, with their prejudices and stero-types, cannot corrupt. Nothing matters with children because they haven't been indoctorined with any type of racism, until they experience it.
I have always considered people of certain races, nationalities, or religions as "trouble" or as "dangerous". I have come to the conclusion that all PEOPLE are dangerous and trouble. This in spite of their color, race or religion. No christian is any more dangerous than any more dangerous than any Jew, or Muslim. No Afro-American is anymore dangerous than any Latino, or white. We are human. All of us have good and bad. All humans are totally capable of murder, violence, and any other atrocity you can think of. We are all subseptable to group or "mob" mentallity.
I realize that no man should have dominion over another. Be it master, slave, cop, judge, iron worker, garbage man, celebrity, or politician. No one should be able to take away the rights of another. No one person should be able to tred on the rights, dignity, individuallity, privacy, peace, or humanity of another.
We will all judge. We will all look and study one another and form opinions about others. However, should those opinions be based solely on race, ethnicity, or religion, then in my eyes, that is what I would call truely pathetic and weak. Arguments and assumptions based on the aforementioned things just are without merit, however, should be protected by the first ammendment Even incorrect theories and ideas are still a part of history and should find their way into it, dicredited, disproven, and discarded as fact, lest it never be repeated.
We are all the children of one Mother - Mother Earth we have to share this planet together, be her care takers and be her protectors. I just hope we can all do this together as one.
