ADNAUSEUM
In a hot summer of 1991, Anauseum was formed.
James Keener and Brian Kerr after long months of searching for guitarts and singers for their musical project, came apon long time friends of Brian Kerr. Those friends were Brian Ponn, Jason Belohlavek and Matt Krueger.
Bringing songs to the table like "Soul Seance" and "Total Corruption" Brian Ponn and Matt were welcomed with open arms. Jason with his shredding rythyms and awesome grinding ability was just another key to the Adnauseum lock. James being from a more classic, punk and grunge background found this new style of music both intruiging and intimidating. Brian Kerr found the new music challenging, interesting, and beautiful.
Adnauseum began to be a name that floated around the high schools and attract fans from every social genere.
The sheer party, sexual, and apathetic attitude of these five individuals began to attract attention.
The early months found Adnauseum practicing in the confines of Brian (the Kernel) Kerrs mothers house. First, in his bedroom then in his mother's basement.
After a rampant series of sex parties and misfortunate accidents, the Kernel's mother kicked them out of the basement.
Now the band had to find another place to go.
Mentor on the Lake offered up it's practice holes to the band. Adnauseum moved into the territory in 1993. The practice space became almost an immediate hangout for all the freaks, miscreants, and social outcasts. Adnauseum fit in perfectly. There were groupies. Groupies galore.
The band went on to perfect their songs and record a demo, which, would be widely sought after and aggressively purchased. Although poorly produced, the demo would get college air play and be heralded by many local bands at the time as KICK ASS.
The sheer intensity of the music, killer grinds, and down picked doom riffs would define a style all their own. I was distincly ADNAUSEUM.
Playing with such bands as HEMDALE, DECREPIT, INTERNAL BLEEDING, P.O.D., APOCRAPHYX, and some others they were well on their way to staking a claim in the national scene.
However, things were not to be for Adnauseum. After receiving a "Cease and Desist" order for using the name Adnauseum, the band began to fall apart. Guitarist Brian Ponn was forced out of the band and although the band recorded a full length engineered by guitarest Mike and drummer Craig from Hemdale the band broke up. This full length has never been relaeased as of yet but, however, it is in this author's knowledge that this LP will be released under a new name and it will be professionally engineered.
Look for this release in mid-2005. More to come....
