THE BEST OF TIMES ... THE WORST OF TIMES
We have gone through the longest running good economy in the history of the country. This should be the best of times, and for many Americans it is.
The Americans for whom times are good haven't completly forgotten their fellows for whom they are not. Americans are giving more to charity than ever before. But the need is also greater than ever before. Our govenment has in part been able to extend this economic boom by either cutting back social programs or by cutting them out all together. This has been a large contributing factor in our first (deficit) in half a centry.
What will happen when this boom ends.
