0.9 Beta pre-release (Released Mar 96)

1.0 Almost completely rewritten version (Released Jun 96)

- New interface based on tabs
- Briefing editor
- Loads of new stuff

1.05: Not released (Jun 96)

Bugs fixed:

- When Adding or Inserting a group the changes were not saved.
- Incorrect handling for ship types in assignments, arrival condition, global goals and inflight
  messages condition (stupid conversion).
- Briefing end marker was not saved, causing TF to crash at the last
  commands.

New features:

- Added Jammer Beam option (TIE Fighter CD)
- Added formation edit (sort of)
- Added a new checkbox, "Responds to orders" (eg Shift-W, Shift-G, Shift-H)
- Added support for the new ship types in TIE Fighter CD (R&D Facility,
Laser Batter and Warhead Launcher weapons platforms)
- Added a few tests for design faults

1.1 (Sep 96}

Bugs fixed:
- This is not really a bug, but it would cause TIE Fighter to crash. The
word wrap in the question editor was activated, and the result was that
you could write very long lines thinking that they are different lines, but
they were saved as one long line.
Very long lines lead to crashes.

Features added:

- Added correction option for mission check
- Added interface to change ship class, object class and supergroup
- Added conversion for scroll and tag points
- Adding or inserting a briefing command keeps the time from the previous
command
- Drag'n'drop map for waypoints (1 group at a time only)
- Added an options dialog to decide whether to save values for waypoints from
the map or from the table
- Added option to alter font
- Added a toolbar
- program sets automatically repeat to 1 when you have docking assignments
- removed docking assignments repeat 0 check for obvious reasons
- added a button which allows discarding the changes that have not already
been saved (a few values are stored as they are edited - name, iff, type -
also some operations act directly on the variables, like adding or deleting
  items)
- Simplified Briefing Tags/Messages editing. Now enter them directly in a multi
  line text editing control.

Things to do in the future:

- Make the map work better
- Maybe a global map
- Complete an LFD viewer or, even better, make it an LFD editor
It will probably edit battles (so you can create your own battles, changing
mission names, descriptions, sector name - wow!-, batle name), MIDI file extractor
and inserter, VOC file extractor and inserter.
- Maybe - just maybe - a ship shape editor. I have figured out a few things,
but I am quite far of a complete understanding of the data format.
- A ship data editor (for FLIGHT.OVL: speed,turning rates,hull,shields,weapons)
  much easier to do.
- The ability to edit more groups at a time. Unfortunately, because of the
lame way I wrote this, it will be very hard to do, requiring a major rewrite.
- Probably a Win95 version (should I do this? How many of you still use Win31?)
- A cockpit .INT file editor. Hacking started successfully. Fly X-Wings(it
is possible)! Or, even better, Star Destroyers! (Not sure if possible,
certainly not much fun, because it wouldn't be possible to control the turbo
lasers.

* Note: I am working on the Win95 version, and it includes a battle editor
(almost finished),a lfd extractor (I use it to extract sounds) and a ship
data editor (speed, turning rates etc.) in addition to an improved mission
editor. As for the .INTs, I have tried to use an existing INT (TIEADV.INT)
for X-Wing; I renamed it as XWING.INT and it almost works. You can fly the
X-Wing, fire the X-Wing weapons, but when you targeta ship the lower part
becomes corrupted. I'm still trying to figure out why.

E-mail me with your opinion about which of this features should I work on more.
E-mail me if you use this program. I don't want a registration fee, but I'd like
to know if people use this.
