YEAR  ELEVEN
Welcome to your GEOPAGE
What Examination Board are we using?
(A syllabus is now called a SPECIFICATION)

AQA
Specification  'A' Geography. (2000)

AQA
syllabuses are available from: SEG Publications Department, Stag Hill House, Guildford,Surry, GU2 5XJ. or download from AQA website.

What is the 'Certificate of Achievement'?
This is not a GCSE but it is an entry level examination for other GCSE and GNVQ's. You must have completed a piece of coursework to be entered

What is the Short Course?
The short course is the same standard as the full course, with Foundation and Higher, but less content is covered and half the coursework.
The award would be the same as the \full Course but would have (Short Course) written after the title.

Should I do Higher or Foundation Tier papers?
Your teacher will advise you, but if you are achieving at 'D' or below level and/or your mock result was 'D' or below it is probably advisable to do 'Foundation'. It is the opinion of the Department that you probably stand a better chance of a 'C' from the Foundation paper.
