ALL THIS AND MORE

by: Grace E. Easley

Share all this and more with me,
Green winding roads where leafy trees
Meet like a roof top overhead,
And ripple in the morning breeze.
Wild meadows filled with sun and flowers,
White clouds in a summer sky,
Covered bridges over streams
That bubble as they hurry by.

Share all this and more with me,
An afternoon upon a hill,
That overlooks the countryside,
And we shall not come down until
Each cottage window sheds its light
Of welcome, as the dusk descends,
And we'll return the way we came,
Happpy just because we're friends.

Share all this and more with me,
A campfire and a waterfall,
Shadowed spires in dawn's first light,
Whose bells ring out to one and all.
Sleepy little country towns,
Whose yards are filled with autumn leaves,
Harvest time when one can hear
The song of wind among the sheaves.

Winding rivers through deep miles
Of solitude untouched by man,
Burning beauty one can touch
By merely reaching out his hand.
Rocky, weather beaten coasts,
Dune grass on a sandy shore,
Journey through the years with me,
And share all this, and more.
