SNAP OUT OF IT

by: Esther Nilsson

Snap out of it, my friend, rejoice
In this, a brand new day!
What difference does it make, if in
The past you've erred some way?
Your friends all understand, they know
How difficult it's been
Snap out of it, my friend, why you're
Just ripe now to begin.

There's so much work for you to do,
And life goes by so soon,
She's bound to pass you up unless
You keep your step in tune.
A little failure here and there,
Why, they should add more zeal!
Snap out of it, my friend, and show
The stuff in you that's real.

We're bound to err, for life is full
Of tempters crowding in,
It's difficult at best to keep
Serene amidst the din,
And who is fit to judge you sin
Or throw a stone your way?
Sna out of it, my friend, there's no
Such thing as yesterday.
