LOOK FOR TOMORROW

by: Shirley Hile Powell

If I could but look for tomorrow
Through teardrops that fall like rain,
I would know that God's love would sustain me
Through this day of sorrow and pain.

I would have found just an inkling
Of what faith is really all about;
For faith is God's gift to His people
That removes misunderstanding and doubt.

If I could but look for tomorrow
And see it just over the hill,
I would know this day of disconentment
Is somehow God's holy will.

Then I could look for the sunshine
That somehow always follows the rain;
I would know in my heart that God loves me
And that joy seems to follow the pain.
