JUST A LITTLE HIGHER

by: Grace E. Easley

Lift me just a little higher,
Lord I'm much too small to see
All the wisdom and the wonder
Of this world You made for me.
I've only fleeting glimpses,
And I want to see the whole,
Bend down a little closer,
So that I can grab a-hold.

Lift me just a little higher,
So I can appreciate
The blessings of each passing day,
Before it is too late.
For though I stand on tip-toe,
I can barely see he sun,
I want to touch a star or two,
Before my life is done.

Lift me just a little higher,
Lord this little prayer is such
A simple thing for You because
I do not weigh too much.
Lift me just a little higher,
So that I can understand,
If You sit me on Your shoulders,
I can be a taller man.
