GOD'S KEEPING TRACK

by: Grace E. Easley

God's keeping track of all the days
I've spent upon this earth,
And it remains for Him to judge
Just what each one is worth.
He has a book in which He writes
Each thought, and word and deed,
He never makes erasures,
For there isn't any need.

God's keeping track of all the years,
He's numbered without fail,
He weighs each single motive
Upon His golden scale.
He's counted all the laughter,
And He's listed all the tears,
The price of every heartache,
And the foolishness of fears.

God's keeping track of decades,
That are no longer new,
The times He's made allowances
For things I'm going through.
All the minutes and the hours,
Every month that rolls around
God gladly gives the silver stars,
...But I must earn the crown.
