BEYOND THE GOLDEN SUNRISE
by: Clay Harrison
Beyond the golden sunrise,
Each new day is born,
And oppotunities await us
Beyond the waking morn.
Each day is ours to mold and shape
Into a work of art,
And time is of the essence,
For soon it will depart.
Beyond the evening's afterglow,
The sun begins to fade
Until the western sky becomes
A living marmalade.
Twilight vespers bring to mind
Things that might have been,
As we contemplate the day
That shall never come again.
"This is the day the Lord has made,"
A wide and open door
That beckons all to enter
Where none have gone before.
