THOUGH DAYLIGHT HAS ENDED
by: Mary E. Herrington
Though daylight has eded
And twilight is near
And shadows are creeping
I need not have fear.
For God in His mercy
Is watching above
And moonlight is beaming
With the warmth of His love
The stars, too, are shining,
They brighten the night.
I've hope for tomorrow
That all will be right.
God's gifts are too num'rous
His peace, daily bread,
All my friends who love me,
A roof o'er my head.
I dream of the 'morrow
When dawn breaks anew;
I'll look to my Father
And give praises due...
I'll thank Him for blessings,
For sweet, restful sleep,
The angels in Heaven
Whose good watch did keep.
