Prerequisites |
Grammar and vocabulary:
Knowledge of basic grammar, from the present simple to the past; specific
basic vocabulary related to the argument; to know something about the theme
(ex what is a pc). Functions:
answering and asking questions, talking about everyday life (for ex about the
past, the present, the future, about hobbies and interests) Language activities:
(reception and production)to read, understanding the global sense (scanning)
and catching the main points of the texts related to the informatic field (skimming);
to understand the instructions to use the pc, Word, etc.; to answer oral and
written simple questions about the argument studied. |

Objectives |
Grammar and vocabulary: to
enrich vocabulary, in particular related to the argument; to improve the grammar
structures; to reinforce receptive and productive skills. Knowledge and use: to
improve their knowledge of the argument (for ex. the difference between
hardware and software; to learn how to write a cv and write it using Word; to
draw a table into the document; to change the type and to make other changes;
to learn what is a net; the different types of net (Internet, LAN, WAN etc.);
what Internet is; the history of Internet; how internet works; how to do a
research using the searching engines. Functions: finding
a specific information in a text or in a magazine (for ex. what a software
is, what Internet is etc.). “Can do” statements: using
Word, writing at pc, sending an e-mail, write a cv, making a research on
internet etc. |

Competences involved |
General competences1) Declarative
knowledge (savoir): knowledge about the argument, what internet is, how internet
works, what a software or a hardware component is, what is the difference
between RAM and ROM, how the search engine works etc. 2) Knowledge
and skills (savoir-faire): ability to use the pc; to open a program (Word), to
use it, to write a cv through it; to navigate on internet, searching for
something, through the search engines etc. 3) Existential
competence (savoir-etre): to give an opinion about something; to work not only
individually, but also in team (for ex. searching for something on internet
etc). Communicative language
competences 1) Linguistic
competence: knowledge of the vocabulary of the language, above all of a specific
vocabulary, lexical elements (for ex. fixed expressions or words of the
informatics field) and grammatical elements (for ex. articles, prepositions,
etc.); knowledge of the perception and production of sounds-units (phonemes)
of the language, pronunciation of the words; orthographic competence, that is
the knowledge of the production of the symbols of which written texts are
composed, the use of punctuation marks, varieties of font (for ex. Arial,
Times New Romans, Comic Sans etc.) common signs (for ex. @etc). 2) Sociolinguistic
competence: use and choice of greetings (for ex in a letter: “best regards, love
from, yours sincerely...”etc or in a cv), use and choice of address form (for
ex. in a letter: “dear, My Lord, Sir, Madame.....” etc); to perceive the
register differences (for ex. formal or informal letter or e-mail). |
