the main players here, along with some chunky peaktime beats and dubbed
out horn stabs. On the reverse, "Best Funk Forwarded" opens with some
great Latin-tinged percussion before a pumping bassline groove joins the

uptempo beats and reworking the bassline slightly on a killer peaktime prog
cut. On the flip, Toronto's Luke Fair gives the track a dubby overhaul, with a
wicked dubbed bassline the centerpiece of this more moody take on the

chords provide a fitting backdrop. The dub mix takes the track a little
further, giving it a bit of Latin flavor via some great percussion, and then
adding a strong piano line to dominate the space left by the stripping out of

(hence the acronym). The first mix comes from our Icelandic friend Thor 54
whose mix is epic and huge with impressive production. We're tempted to
say it's icy and volcanic as well but ... well, we just did. On the flip is a
banging and severely funked up mix by Seattle's Jacob London. Both mixes
also tweak out the vocals of Lisa Shaw to the point where they are basically
another strange instrument in the mix. Wild. You may also be able to spot a

is another hypnotic funky techno cut, with crisp beats and layers of effects,
a la Matt Dear. On the flip, "Little And Often" blends minimal techno with
some house-flavored synths, resulting in a late night tech-house groover.
Last up is "Polyester Look", combining a swing beat with a deep funk
bassline, vocoder vocals and great guitar riff on the most house-flavored

female vocal track. 3 mixes to choose from here, with François Kervorkian's
dub the pick of the litter, toughening up the track via slightly harder beats, a
fatter bassline, and making the guitar riff from the original version the main

Nikos paying tribute to his hometown of Los Angeles on this latest release
from Under My Skin. "City Of Angels" features some stellar guitar play,
solid beats, and superb keys, while a soulful vocal gives this late night
groover that little added extra. The "Blue Bossa Mix" ups the tempo a bit,
City Of Angels
with some crisp beats and a beefed up bassline opening up before a
tougher kickdrum drops alongside reworked keys on this funkier take.
Soulplanet Jazz Ensemble give the track a little Latin flavor via some new
percussion elements and a more prominent guitar lick. Last of the 4 mixes
