After Graduated from High School she attended College in Machias, where she meet and decided to marry my father in 1973. My mother Graduated from the Univeristy of Maine at Machias in 1975, began a mother a few months later, with her first me, Cherie. She has since given birth to two more children Shana and David. My mother is presently working at Lisbon Elementary School with special children. Since my first daughter was in the second grade I have been actively in Girl Scouts. I was a Brownie Leader, and a Junior Leader. I also helped out with the Cadetts and Senior groups. During these years I also helped out at a local Girl Scout Camp. Which for many years was just Kennebec Girl Scout Camp but later was know as SO-CA-ME Day camp, and home to many. My mother started there as a Pixie Leader (children of parents that worked there 5 and under) to a Group leader, to an Assistant Director to the Director of this camp. She along with outher member of the camp created and OLD TIMERS CLUB, if you had been there 3 years , then you became an OLD TIMER. This club contained many and all of these children and adults with miss camp this year. For the first year in many years (this year 2001) there will no longer be a summer camp for us to go to it. It will sadly be missed. My mother has also been an acitve memeber along with my Brother in Boy Scouts. She attended meetings, and went as a leader and helper to many camps, and other activities to be with my brother and help out. |
| Working with children has been my mothers passion, she is currently working at the local school with children of all ages. She loves to work with the children, and if you could see their faces, you would see they love working with her as well. She has much free time since she is no longer activly working with boyscouts and girls scouts, and this free time is spent with my her son, David.. |
| I ,Cherie, want to be just like her. I want to have the intelligence to bring up three "perfect" children. I want to be able to help others, as she has done. And I want to help children to become the best that they can be. For if they don't have assistance and guidence then maybe they will take the path less traveled. |
