AN: Hi readers! Faithful readers... Devoted readers... *Gets hit by
tomato* evil readers... Well, anyway, here's another fic. For those of you
who were obsessed with time travel--haha. None here. This isn't the time
travel series anymore. This is the Battle of Obida series (lightning
crackles, thunder booms). Anyway, must I continue the pleasantries? I guess
I must.
Disclaimer: I don't own digimon due to the fact that my offer for ten
bucks was turned down (stupid economy). Anyway, Julia and Walter are mine.
Ask to use 'em. Now, the show!
"I hate it when someone's intelligence and ambition can get the better of
them. Tentomon here, and last time, Izzy made a thinking computer that
controlled him! He was then able to spread the virus, and soon, all of the
digimon were under the spell but Songmon and Labmon, who digivolved into
their champion forms, followed by their ultimate forms. As the virus spread,
Joe went back in time to undo the whole thing. I hope it works out!"
Part1
Going Home
Kari was reading a paper. Matt was hunched over, reading over her
shoulder. Izzy and Walter were also reading a paper, and Mimi often had a
faraway look, like she was receiving psychic calls day and night. Joe was
taking more and more time on his reporting duties, and no day went by without
at least a half hour of recording.
"Perfect!" Joe was looking through a hole in the shrubbery at a bunch of
Salamon and Patamon eating together. T.K.'s and Kari's were among them.
"Okay Patamon! Just eat up!" said T.K., a big smile on his face.
Tai looked at Mimi's and Joe's bags. Hmmm. Blackmail opportunity. He
peeked into Joe's. He looked at the stuff inside. He made mental notes.
Hmmm. A crowbar. His camera and extra film, his first aid
supplies--what's this?
He picked up a loaded revolver.
Joe has a loaded GUN? That's dangerous! That's--
Suddenly, a strong hand grabbed his arm. It yanked his arm up so
suddenly that the gun flashed in the sunlight and fell to the ground. Tai
was looking straight into Joe's face.
"Don't. Ever. Touch. That. Again." Said Joe. Tai nodded meekly.
Sora looked over. She had been chasing Biyomon, but then she heard
Gabumon's voice. "Sora, what's that thing in the grass?"
Sora looked over--and saw the gun. She gasped. "A gun? I don't believe
that Joe has a gun!" For she had just seen Joe pick it up and repack it.
The digimon looked at each other blankly, and then looked at Sora, who
had fainted.
Tai shrugged, and looked into Mimi's bag. Their was makeup, nail polish,
a blaster, a--
Tai stared. A blaster? He reasoned that since Mimi was a military
general, she probably had one. Suddenly--
Mimi had shoved Tai hard away from her bag. Tai lay winded on the
ground. After warning Tai never to do that again, Mimi stormed off.
Mimi stopped in the middle of the clearing and took out a device. She
pointed it in the center of the clearing. A swirl appeared in front of her.
Kari jumped up to stop her, but Mimi jumped in the portal, which shut.
Kari turned to Tai and said. "Sorry, but in the line of duty, you guys will
have to listen to u. Understand? Good."
Tai said. "Could you please take us home?"
Kari responded. "No. Just like Mimi went to her base, we must go to
ours. Unless you feel like joining the army?"
Kari waved a similar device in the air. It beamed a portal. Kari,
Walter, Matt, and Izzy ran through it.
Tai sighed. "We're stuck."
Joe smiled. "I'm not. This time machine can also take me through
dimensions back to the real world." He hit it, and vanished.
T.K. came running back with Salamon and Patamon. "The Hat Of Fate can do
it. Shall the digimon stay here?"
Tai nodded. "Yes, No point in dragging them to a war in Obida, which I
think is where they went."
T.K. activated the Hat Of Fate, and off they went.
Part2
Tempmon
The remaining four digidestined appeared in the school hallway. They
went to the bulletin board for news.
When they got there, they found a notice saying Will Tai Kimiya, Sora
Takenochi, Takeru Ishida, and Julia Song please report to the principal. We
need you. Please?
Rolling their eyes, the students walked to the office. Once there, the
principal beckoned them.
"I'll get right to the point. People in town have been going crazy,
skipping school, and other stuff because of this new merchant called Tempmon.
We know that you have done crazy things before. Investigate! Mimi, Matt,
Kari, and Walter just left, and we don't know where Joe or Izzy are. Please?
You won't have to go to school."
They all said yes at once.
Splitting up when they got outside, Tai went on a walk to the local park.
He ran into Matt. Matt was dressed camouflage style. They chatted, and
turned down an old, deserted street.
Suddenly, a digimon floated down in front of them. The digimon had one
of the badges on him (AN: If you don't get this, see "Find That Time!")
"I'm Tempmon. I have got whatever you want. Love bottled, friendship on
a two for one sale..."
Matt and Tai looked at each other with an expression of he's officially
nuts.
Tempmon snapped his fingers, and a soccer ball floated in front of Tai.
He snapped them again, and a sword floated in front of Matt.
Tai grabbed the ball and gave it a few kicks. Matt slashed the sword
through the air. It was sharp and new.
Tempmon said. "All you need to do is sign these contracts and--"
The two signed them without even looking at them. Tempmon bowed and
said. "Have a nice day!"

Mimi and Kari walked through town, and then to the park. There they met
Tai and Matt, who showed them their goods, but not the contract.
Matt and Tai walked away, and explored for a half hour, trying to dig up
the others. Suddenly, Tempmon reappeared.
"Look at your contract." He said.
On the contract, it said, among other things, I pledge my body to Tempmon.
Tai snorted with laughter and Matt chuckled.
Tempmon just smiled and waved his hands over Tai's and Matt's heads.
They fell asleep.
When they woke up, they were floating in the air. Their bodies were next
to them.
They both looked at each other in shock.
Their bodies got up, bowed to Tempmon, and left.
Uh-oh.
Walter ran right through them and ran off. He didn't even see or feel
them.
Double uh oh.

Mimi and Kari had split up, each having gotten something from Tempmon.
Mimi clutched her new makeup kit passionately. She rounded the corner.
And bumped into Tempmon.
It was midday. No one heard her scream.
Kari, fingering her new whistle, had found Julia, who was kissing Izzy.
After waiting politely, she told them about how wonderful Tempmon was. Then
she walked away.
Izzy and Julia couldn't find the source of the scream that penetrated the
air minutes later.

Walter talked to T.K., Joe, and Sora. "Sounds like this Tempmon guy is
fine. Tai, Matt, Mimi, and Kari were so happy about him. Izzy and Julia
didn't gush as much, but they liked him too."
Walter walked off with T.K. to get some candy, while Joe and Sora kept on
looking. Suddenly, they heard a scream.
Walter and T.K. found Julia walking down the street where the scream came
from. Julia said that she'd fallen asleep and had had a bad nightmare.
Then, another scream came.
Izzy had had a nightmare too, he said when they ran over.
Part3
Rescuers
Meanwhile, Joe and Sora had encountered Tempmon too. But they actually
read the contract.
"No way!" Joe ripped his up. Sora followed suit.
Smoke issued from them. Tempmon groaned in agony. Sora stared,
petrified.
Joe fired his gun at the groaning Tempmon, but it had no effect. Tempmon
was starting to recover.
They ran off.
They found Tai and Matt in the park, chatting on a bench. Joe and Sora
walked up to them.
"Hi Tai. Can I see your contract?" asked Joe.
"Um, sure. Any reason?" asked Tai slowly as he handed it over.
Sora looked at it, and then suddenly ripped it in two.
Electricity seemed to course through Tai's body. Tai fell over
backwards. At the same time, Tai fused in with his body again. He was now
unconscious.
Joe sighed. "Sora, that was clumsy. Matt, could I see your contract?"
Matt shook his head. "No."
Joe grabbed for it, but Matt drew his blaster and pointed it at Joe.
"Why Matt, I never saw this side of you." Said Joe, fingering his
revolver.
"If you don't leave, you won't see anything!" Said Matt, with his blaster
out.
Tai got up and jumped at Matt. He dropped his contract, which Joe tore
up.
When they revived Matt, they continued onward.

Mimi and Kari ran around a corner of the lake.
Joe and Sora ran into them. They all ended up in the lake.
Mimi and Kari swam out quickly and found Joe's bag (which had stayed on
shore). They then took his crowbar, got Tai and Matt to help, and pulled Joe
out of the river.
In the chaos, Tai grabbed Mimi's contract out of her bag and ripped it up.
Now, this was bad timing. Mimi fell unconscious, and Tai and Matt let go
of the crowbar to attend to her, just as Sora grabbed the crowbar.
This meant that it went from four kids pulling no one to one kid pulling
someone bigger than her. Her army training didn't help here, and she was
catapulted into the lake.
Kari refused to give Sora her contract, and then she swam underwater and
away. Sora caught up with her, and they had a brief struggle. Sora got
knocked unconscious, and got jammed in the mud. Tai jumped in to help,
ripped up the contract, and brought both girls to the top.
After shaking off the wetness, they found Izzy and Julia. Izzy was typing
quickly. Julia was singing. Tempmon was a little ways over, watching.
Julia was easy to sneak up on. Suddenly, she had a gun at her head. She
was frisked, her contract was stolen and ripped up, and she fell unconscious.
Izzy didn't notice.
Tempmon went to stand right behind Izzy, and said. "I can control him
completely, you know. He could attack you, or commit suicide. Would you
like to take that risk?"
Joe rolled his eyes. As Tempmon ranted about how he could control Izzy,
Joe tackled Izzy, grabbed his contract, and ripped it up.
This time, a lot more steam came from the ripped up contract pieces.
Walter and T.K. dashed over. Tempmon groaned. Tempmon turned into a golden
disk, that quickly browned. It vanished. It reappeared, with three other
disks. One had a 's.' For Vernemon and space. One had a 't.' For Julia and
thoughts. One had an 'a.' Probably for ambition (Izzy concluded), thus it
was also for that computer program gone awry. And this one, with an 'm' for,
as all guessed, matter. Then they vanished.
But something was wrong. Jim's hadn't been there!
