The Beholders' Wish by DKG80

Brief Review:

Kari, Matt, and Izzy aren't the only ones that have hidden pasts. In fact,

everyone but Tai and Joe either have a hidden past or a very special

artifact. Unfortunately, these secrets seem to be killing off the

digidestined. Can our heroes survive?

Disclaimer:

I don't own digimon. I don't own any of the stories or poems. I don't own

Bandi or Hasbro or anyone who makes money off of digimon (as Piedmon would

say, "so sad"). I don't own the moon. Wait, how did that get in there?

Part 1

Stories and relics

"Mommy! Mommy! Will you tell me a story?" Asked the little Mimi.

T.K., who was visiting, joined in the begging. Matt, also visiting, was

more interested in Mimi.

"Man, she is cute. I wish that I could say that I loved her, but she

wouldn't understand." He thought.

Mimi's mom relented. "All right! All right. I'll tell you a story.

It's about the legendary three-"

Sora rang the doorbell. She knew Mimi, but didn't know the Ishidas.

"My mom told me to give you this spaghetti pot. She said that you had

broken your old spaghetti pot, and this one would be a good replacement."

She said.

"Hello, Sora. How did the soccer game go?" Asked Mimi

"Hey Mimi, that is a really nice dress!" Matt exclaimed, following Mimi.

"Don't worry, Mrs. Mimi's mom. Even if they don't want to hear your

story, I'll listen!" Said T.K. cheerfully.

"Okay. There was once a wonderful inventor. He invented what is known

today as the legendary three weapons of the mountains!" Said Mimi's mom.

She continued. "Sadly, these three weapons were lost in a great many

battles. They were very powerful, and were known as the heart, the hat, and

the handshot."

"The heart was a little heart keychain. It was only supposed to work if

the master vampire had it, so it represented immortality. Vampires live

forever."

"The hat was a hat that looked much like your own hat, T.K. It

represented fate. I don't know why."

"The handshot is a nickname for a blaster in an army of wizards. It

represents strength, as it is very powerful, and intelligence, as this

weapons is said to have a mind of it's own!"

"Sadly, these weapons were all lost. But who knows? Maybe they'll turn

up somewhere someday!" She finished.

"Wow! Where did you get that story?" Asked T.K.

"Oh, Matt told it to me!" Chuckled Mimi's mom.

"Would you like to hear another story?" Mimi's mom asked.

"No thanks." Responded T.K. He wandered off.

Mimi left her conversation with Sora. Matt had actually gotten engrossed

in the conversation, which was now about soccer plays (if so and so is

running right at you with the ball and you steal, do you run right or left)?

Mimi came over to her mom. "I'll listen to a story!"

She smiled. "Okay. This one is from a book. It has a lot of tales.

It's supposed to be the code to find the master vampire:

"Really courageous and a bit bossy there.

Another has a sword from his army years.

Pretty smart but worries too much.

Over trivial things this lady makes a fuss!

Child of love, settles disputes, and has fun.

Vampires all, but the master is just one."

" The first five verses are all different people who are turned into

vampires. The sixth verse just ends the poems." Said Mimi's mom.

"Neat!" Said Mimi.

The Ishidas and Sora had left, so Mimi dashed out of the house to say

good-bye before her mother could say another word.

In digiworld...

"Hey look, Mimi! I struck a chest!"

Mimi came over to Sora, and helped her uncover the chest. There was no

lock. Inside, there was a heart shaped necklace and a blaster in a sheath.

"I call the necklace! It is just so cute!" Said Mimi. She put it on.

She felt a tingle when she did so.

Sora picked up the blaster, and pocketed it. She felt a tingle when she

did so.

"Hey Sora and Mimi! Please hurry with those potatoes!" Said Genni.

Mimi didn't like digging potatoes, but Genni had pressed her into it.

Sora had volunteered to help, but the boys were lazing inside.

But not Genni, not Sora, nor anyone in fact, knew her secret.

Part 2

The Vampires Power

NOTE: This scene takes place after they defeat Myotismon.

In primary village, an egg hatched. It would be the last one to hatch

before the dark masters destroyed the place.

The digimon that crawled out went to a secret potion compartment to take

a potion that would make him strong enough to digivolve twice.

When he was done digivolving, Myotismon congradulated himself on his plan.

It was an unusually hot day in the digiworld. Everyone had fallen back

into their respective personalities (like Joe and Mimi complaining, Tai

bossing, etc.)

They came upon a clearing in the woods. That wasn't what startled them.

What did startled them was that Myotismon was sitting there and relaxing,

with what looked remarkably like a ray gun beside him.

Joe was all for going in the other direction. "I don't think that it's a

good idea to wake him up. Let's get out of here!"

Unfortunately, Myotismon did wake up. He pretended to ignore the

digidestined, and instead fiddled a bit with the gun.

Gomamon whispered. "Let's leave. I don't want to get shot."

Myotismon suddenly jumped up, pointed the gun straight at Tai, and fired.

A red light came out of the gun and zapped Tai. He fell down, winded.

When he got up, he looked ... kind of strange. His eyes appeared to be red.

Kari looked like she was about to attempt to kill Myotismon with her bare

hands. Izzy looked shocked. Matt looked... indifferent. Sora and T.K.

looked like they were hoping that it was a joke. Joe's look said "I told you

so." Mimi looked like she had known that this would happen all along. She

had long since figured out the poem. Well, most of it. There was still one

troubling line:

Really courageous and a bit bossy there. Tai.

Another has a sword from his army years. ?

Pretty smart but worries to much. Joe.

Over trivial things this lady makes a fuss! Herself.

Child of love, settles disputes, and has fun. Sora

Vampires all, but the master only one.

Sora gasped. "You killed him!"

Myotismon laughed. "Hahahahaha! He's not dead. Well, he's not fully

dead."

Kari rolled her eyes. "Oh please. C'mon people, let's get out of here!!!"

Sora had to ask. "Why? What happened to Tai?"

Kari responded quickly, already taking off. "Look at his eyes. They're

blood red. Myotismon turned him into a vampire!"

Sora rolled her eyes. "Yeah right."

Tai stumbled a little and talked to Sora in a raspy voice. "Yes, My

little sister is right. Hey, anyone want to join me for a bite?"

"AAAAAAAAH!" They ran off into the woods. Tai flew above the trees,

quickly overtook them, and landed right in front of them.

"Miss me?" he asked, mockingly.

Matt drew a saber from a scabbard within his shirt. He raised it at the

vampire Tai, who grabbed a crowbar lying on the ground and lunged at Matt.

Matt jumped easily aside, and started making thrusts at Tai.

Mimi instinctually knew that Matt had gotten that from the army. She

guessed that he would lose.

Matt seemed to guess that too. "You guys run off! I'll hold your back!"

Even running off, they heard Matt's scream as Tai knocked the saber to

the ground. "AAAH!"

Tai chuckled. "HAHAHAHA! I've wanted to do that for years!"

Matt lay, bitten, on the ground.

***

Joe was picked sentry for that night. He was scared. He calmed himself

by cleaning the lens of his video camera. It had been in the medical sack

before they came to digiworld, but he had never showed it to anyone. He did

not know why it worked and none of Izzy's equipment did, but this was one

thing that he wouldn't complain about. He had taped several of the more

unbelievable scenes, such as Etemon falling into some kind of vortex (yes, he

got Tai in that shot too).

He was so intent on what he was doing, he didn't notice the figure

approaching him.

Until Matt grabbed him by the shoulder, and yanked away the camera.

"AAAAH!"

The digidestined awoke to the scream to find Joe bitten on the ground

while Matt stood over him, flexing his sword.

They ran off into the woods. Matt ran after them. Tai came out of the

bushes and flew right above them, for tracking purposes. When Joe recovered,

he grabbed his camera and gave chase. Even though he was a vampire, he still

had the urge to exploit this scene to the world.

Mimi soon became lost in thought. Everything had happened according to

the podium, but that meant that she would become a vampire next! That

couldn't be right. Not because she was invincible, but she didn't think that

she would be fated to actually read her future. She had thought that it

might have been a joke, or maybe a mistake.

She soon was so absorbed in her thoughts that she didn't notice the world

around her.

That explains why she ran into the tree.

Which explains, while she was lying winded on the ground, she didn't

notice Joe until he shot her with the flashlight on his camera (his camera

had a button to activate a small light beam).

Which explains why, while she was trying to shake off the ache of

suddenly having a light on her in the dark, she didn't notice Joe getting

ready to bite her.

Until it was too late.

"AAAH!"

***

Deep in the woods, all of the vampires suddenly swooped down on the

digidestined.

T,K.'s hat suddenly glowed, and the blue gem shot out a light beam. It

formed a swirling vortex. The vampires flew into it, and as an after thought

(and to fulfill the prophecy) Mimi pulled Sora in too.

T.K., Izzy, and Kari tried to hang on to Sora, but it was four against

three and they were sent flying as Sora was suddenly yanked out of their grip.

"AAAAH!"

***

Since Joe was a cameraman, the vampires figured that the best place to

invade would be the studio. Joe was one of the best cameraman there, and as

a result, he knew all of the passwords and passageways.

Izzy managed to create, using his computer, a portal to take them back to

where the vampires had gone (which happened to be the real world). The

remaining digidestined hopped in, and came out near the television studio.

It was midnight.

When Izzy, T.K., and Kari walked into the studio, they found that all of

the crew had mysteriously disappeared. Izzy guessed that the vampires had

wanted them to put on a broadcast showing off their might, but if the crewmen

and crewwomen were to do it right, they'd do it when people watched TV and

not at this late hour. They also wanted the crewmembers to be new

vampires-to be a little less adept with flying and all. That way they could

honestly say that the vampire might spread quickly, as last night they had

gone to sleep human, and woken up as vampires!

Anyway, they went up a few flights of stairs to the lighting box. The

person inside controls the lights in the studio. It overlooked the set.

On the stairway, they ran into Jim. He was a lighting director at the

studio. He was also a vampire (the vampires needed someone to turn off all

of the lights so they could roam and bite intruders without frying).

Kari had been in the army, so she knew what to do in this kind of

situation. She whipped out her blaster, and zapped Jim.

Just like Kari had expected, Jim fell unconscious. When he woke up a few

minutes later, he was human again! "Hey thanks, whoever you are. C'mon, we

have to get to the lighting box. A vampire named Sora's in there."

Sure enough, Sora attacked them as soon as they opened the door.

Fortunately, Kari zapped her before she bit anyone.

When she woke up, she thanked Kari for saving her. She said that all she

could remember was Kari taking an object and shooing her with a light beam.

Then she used the intercom to call the other vampires to the set.

T.K. and Sora left very fast, while Izzy ducked down. When the vampires

hovered up, Kari quickly zapped Joe. The other vampires split up.

"Oof!" Joe landed hard on the ground. His leg was broken. He grabbed

the video camera from the medical sack, and recorded the rest of the scene.

ZAP! Tai couldn't dodge quickly enough. He was zapped onto a backdrop.

He started to climb down a ladder, only to have the ladder swing away. It

collided with Matt, who fell stunned to the ground. The ladder slammed into

a wall.

ZAP! Matt was human.

Mimi flew out the window, followed by a zap. She dodged it, but screamed

to make them think that she hadn't.

Mimi landed on the ground with a sigh. She was the one, and she was the

master.

They found Mimi outside, looking like she had been stunned by the fall.

Joe walked outside. "Hey, what's going on? Are we going back to the

digital world?"

Izzy was shocked. "Don't you have a broken leg?"

Joe smiled. "That was just for the camera. Someone as smart as you

should have realized that my leg was only bent at the knee."

Izzy blushed with embarrassment.

They headed back to the digital world to complete their defeat of the

dark masters.

Part 3

Bravery of the Ladies

NOTE: My fic is finally going to be continued!

The remaining digidestined were walking through a woods, when Mimi

swirled suddenly. She had detected a vampire nearby. What was strange was

that no creatures lived in these woods. Mimi had never bitten, or wanted to

bite, a digidestined except for Sora that one time with Myotismon. She

usually found a little stray Yokomon or something was good for one week. But

the prey in the woods would be insufficient. Vampires didn't eat a lot, but

they still ate. The only reason a vampire would be in this wood would be to

kill the digidestined!

She had the ability to communicate with other vampires psychically, so

she opened up the channel.

Leave these woods. There is no prey.

The other vampire laughed.

Say, did you know that not all of the dark masters are dead yet? Piedmon's

back! And he's me!

Mimi closed the channel. There was no ordering some vampires around.

And then, suddenly...

A whole squad of Batomon attacked! The ghosts were everywhere. The

digimon had no time at all to digivolve. The whole gang was down on the

ground. Tai and T.K. had already been knocked unconscious. Mimi knew that

it was time to reveal her secret.

"Everyone, run! I'll handle this mess." She said.

"Are you insane? You'll get killed!" Said Matt.

"I doubt that. I never told anyone this, but I'm the master vampire!"

She exclaimed, letting go of her secret.

She took off her necklace, and held it at the Batomon. "Heart of

Immortality!" She roared.

Matt picked off T.K. and backed off. "C'mon, let's get out of here!

Mimi is the only one who ca stop the Batomon. We don't have time to do that

chant thing."

Tai woke up. He saw the battle, and to everyone's suprise, he agreed

with Matt.

They ran off.

Mimi defeated the last of the Batomon squad, and was feeling pretty

pleased with herself, when Piedmon showed up.

Silently, Piedmon sneaked up on Mimi. He took out his sword, hefted it

back, and tossed it.

Right when Mimi turned around, the sword went into her heart (Author's

note: My thought on this was that a sword could be classified as a stake.

Please don't base your opinion of my fic on this).

Matt turned around for a last glimpse of the forest, when three objects

shot into his hands.

Mimi's tag/crest.

Mimi's digivice.

The Heart of Immortality

Matt then knew that Mimi was dead.

***

The remainder of the digidestined were walking along a cliff, when

suddenly...

"GIGA BLASTER!"

Machinedramon's blast sent the digidestined stumbling. They had

recovered when they noticed something.

Gomamon and Palmon had been blown off the cliff.

Machinedramon laughed. "The only one that Joe killed was Puppetmon. We

were all holograms."

Something in Sora snapped. Forgetting herself, she grabbed her blaster

and zapped Machinedramon with a constant stream of power.

"Blaster of Strength and Intelligence!" She roared.

Machinedramon couldn't take much of the blaster. He broke into digidust

and disappeared.

Unfortunately, they found out why the blaster seemed to have a mind of

its own. The laser went crazy, the recoil was doubled, and Sora was thrown

off the edge of the cliff.

Digivolve into champion!

BIYOMON DIGIVOLVE TO...BIRDRAMON

Birdramon flew of the cliff, hoping to overtake Sora before she landed on

the ground.

Suddenly, Piedmon appeared. He threw a sword at Birdramon, who vanished.

Sora slammed into the ground.

"Sora!"

Hehehe. I enjoy cliffhangers.

NOTE: To those of you who are ready to E-mail me with hate-mail because I'm

killing off the digidestined, I have a treat for you. No more hints!
