| As if you could save them all For their lives you own would fall So you make then for the door Of this mayhem you want no more As you run and fight on past Quietly you sneak real fast 2 zombies on your way you take For no one but your own sake You unbar the sturdy gate And run out to meet your fate The streets are cold and still And in you burns an iron will Though the screams you hear out loud Second guess your will so proud But your own life you must protect When danger you do detect Hopeless if you had stayed A new course now you have strayed So you leave the past behind And push their screams from your mind Down streets you didn't know You wander to and fro As you creep past zombies near Always alert with dreadful fear Never you felt so alone With a chill down to the bone You search for signs of life To save you from this strife But all the streets are dark Upon which silence does park But the shuffling of their feet Upon the cement of the street Unnerving for you to hear Lets you know they're all too near But a sound you recognize Becomes a sight before your eyes A car is upon the street Is a hope you wish to greet Someone else is alive And a perfect time does arrive You dash out into the street With new purpose in your feet Your arms in the air do wave A clear signal you gave But the car, it doesn't slow In fact, faster does it go And truth it dawns on you A zombie they think you, too And as you turn to flee 'How could this happen to me?' The pain goes by so quick To the pavement now you stick |
