THE VICTORY OF MALATHOR

Across the great vast of Alboroth,
Many men claim to hear him still;
An echo of the victory of Malathor,
Though felled in battle, yet lives his will,
To protect his people beyond years and lore,
Watching high above the Kingdom of Alboroth.

***

Soldiers marched forth out of the West from Nimroll.
King Grenwold lusted for the City of Gold.
So came his men led by Captain Tren.
As they crossed onto Alboroths hold,
Yet there was Malathor on the Fields of Sen,
To cease the advances of oncoming Nimroll.

Three arduous days fought the forces of Tren,
Yet both sides were losing their stand,
Exhausted and weak yet demanded of more.
But then - Nimroll redeemed upper hand,
For Alboroths Great Lord and loved Malathor,
Was put down by the sword of Tren.

Come the fourth morning over the plains of Sen,
Through shadow and wear fought the fallen Kings men.
Then asunder grey skies - a shining of new light;
The valiant of Alboroth realized hope when,
As the Captain of Nimroll was bereaved of might,
And his army lay in defeat covering Sen.

What scattered was left of the men of Alboroth,
Gathered their fallen along with Lord Malathor.
There on the Sen was erected a tower,
A tribute to the knights and what they died for;
In sacrifice and honor, Malathors true power,
And thus lived on the people of Alboroth.

***

Come some early mornings, awakes the voice of Malathor,
Upon the wind; the warrior, the brave, and King,
Declaring his triumph for the strength of his hold.
And each year his people rejoice and sing,
Honoring the fallen of Alboroth: the heroes, the bold,
And recalling the respectful deeds of King Malathor.
