| A NEW BEGINNING |
| It was only a small crowd that turned up for the event, mainly because only a small few were actually invited; family members and close friends. Even good old Captain Dudley flew out from the States just to be there, which meant the world to Wendell. Also, Greg was there, Jeff�s ex-boyfriend. Over the years, they actually grew closer as friends. Jeff had long since gotten over Greg cheating on him. It led him to Wendell which was a definite sacrifice he was happy to have gone through. Wendell was wary at first about Jeff conversing with Greg more often, but he trusted Jeff completely and had no reason to disapprove of it. They had also invited Hazel Stanton, the Fairmount Hotel hostess in Los Angeles who they had met both on their initial hook-up and yet again on their honeymoon. But unfortunately, she couldn�t make it. She had a family of her own now, and her husband was away on a business trip and she had to be there to watch their daughter while she attended pre-school. But she was there that day in heart. Harry and Joyce sat there in the first row, holding hands and talking back and forth Joyce gazed at the archway hanging above Wendell and Jeffrey. The soft sunlight gleamed down between the gaps of the lattice work. �This really turned out to be a gorgeous day, didn�t it, Harry?� Harry caressed her hand gently and looked over at her. �It sure did.� �Oh, I am so happy for them. Re-living the best day of their lives. And you know what, Harry? I think they�re even happier together today than when they were when they got married.� �I know,� Harry replied while smiling. Also, a tear was falling down his cheek. He was almost as joyed as Wendell and Jeff. Standing there by the podium, Jeffrey and Wendell finished saying their vows. They were holding hands the entire time and as a summation of all their vows and all their love, they kissed in the warm sunlight after the minister had instructed them to. It was the perfect moment for two people who really deserved the happiness. And it was also a perfect new beginning of a chapter to the book of their lives......... |
