Shuichi's past, from what I have seen is pretty vague. In the OVA, he confirms that he does in fact have parents, because he goes to stay at their house for a short period. It seems that his younger sister, takes it upon herself to keep Shuichi safe and comforted. She seems very kind, and helps him when he is in trouble. As far as I know, he grew up in that same house with his parents and sister.

As for friends, it seems that Hiro and Shuichi have been friends since childhood-early teen years. Even before Bad Luck became an actual band, they idolized Nittle Grasper, though it seems, Ryuichi Sakuma more than anyone, as Shuichi on more than one occaision refers to him as God.
