Hey Max,

It's about 20 minutes after 12.

Work-work is pushing me back.

However, I got the conversation and I gave it to you for you to look

over to see if you want to include it in anything.

I can't specifically think of much to say otherwise, I am really

braindead at the moment.

Anyway, conversation is below.

--

Tatsuko Muraoka: i had a dream about the video

Tatsuko Muraoka: oh, man, i just realized it wasn't a dream

Tatsuko Muraoka: i think i dreamt about it though

Nmherman: No way! A good one I bet. Do tell.

Tatsuko Muraoka: anyway, i was watching it [in real life, i believe] and

i started to realize that my first analysis was very mood-based

Tatsuko Muraoka: i was in a nihilistic mood at the time

Tatsuko Muraoka: very bad state of events

Tatsuko Muraoka: well, i was watching the video and i realized that i

should retract all of my previous statements

Tatsuko Muraoka: it's excellent and very thought-provoking

Tatsuko Muraoka: i could have sworn i had a dream about it

Nmherman: Not at all! Any response to the video is legitimate. I

believe, very truly, that if you wrestle with it a little you can get a

lot out of

it. Of course it isn't perfect--I never tried to make it so.

Tatsuko Muraoka: because as i was thinking of the video just now i

thought of a strange scenario

Nmherman: I've dreamed about it. What strange scenario?

Tatsuko Muraoka: i don't know, something where people are outside

frolicking around and everyone has a lucid understanding of the world

around them

Tatsuko Muraoka: in a grassy field... the stereotypical one that people

frolic in

Nmherman: I think maybe this letter could be your contribution to the

conference. I think it's very honest--not that only good thoughts on the

video are honest--but it's genuine.

Tatsuko Muraoka: except the sky is violently colored with a mixture

between azure and yellow

Tatsuko Muraoka: yes, thank you. i want to contribute something genuine.

Nmherman: I dream about Genius 2000 on college campuses. The days are

usually dark, mid-evening, twilight.

Tatsuko Muraoka: what are you doing in the dreams?

Nmherman: I'm talking to people as they hustle around getting ready for

the evening's festivities. They aren't paying very close attention, but

in the

good ones I feel like I'm getting my point across. Textbook. Probably

sounds made up. Mind you, these dreams aren't an every-night deal. Once

a month.

Tatsuko Muraoka: gotcha

Nmherman: mood-based reactions to the video are a-ok by me. Mine was

very mood-based when I was making it.

Nmherman: It's also excellent to visualize scenarios after thinking

about the video. That's the most important thing in the whole project I

believe.

Nmherman: What do you think of this :

www.geocities.com/~genius-2000/AmericanSpirit.jpg?

Tatsuko Muraoka: inverted?

Nmherman: No, the cigarette pack is at the top.

Tatsuko Muraoka: seven churches?

Tatsuko Muraoka: i don't quite get that

Nmherman: Well, it's a long story from the Bible. It's kind of a joke

thing. How about /Target.jpg?

Tatsuko Muraoka: excellent

Tatsuko Muraoka: have you thought of putting these in a gallery space?

Nmherman: Yeah, that's what I'm trying to set up. I've been a little

slow though, didn't leave myself enough time. I've been mostly working

on the Conference web site, setting everything up, making sure people

send stuff in, etc. There will be a gallery-type show at some point

during the conference, for sure.

Tatsuko Muraoka: that's good.

Nmherman: I gotta go eat dinner. If you write something by Thursday

night, send it to me and I'll put it on the launch page. The Conference

will be online, and at a few spaces here in Minneapolis. You should hold

your own mirror conf. in Orlando. Get your friends together; who knows,

maybe you'll be the ones people listen to.

Later,

Max
