My Imaginary World

I love a bit of fantasy,
I"ve always hid in there
when things were kinda tough
or I felt a feeling of despair

A place where I could safely go
and build a life of dreams
where everything worked out for me
or so it always seemed

Now I've gone and  grown up
I don't visit there so much
I kinda put it all away
and got on with life.. as such

I've tried a few times to get back in
but I didn't know the code
I supposed those times were behind me now
as I traveled life's old road.

Then one day by pure chance
I stumbled over you
and all my secret hiding spots
opened up anew.

So now, my fantasies are back in place
as I carry you with me
and show you all the things Ive been
plus some I've never seen

A slutty whoare, a menacing bloke
a lover, a friend, a mate
someone who can share a toke
then sit and ponder fate

I'll show you all my dungeons
I'll reveal my lofty highs
all those secret fantasy lands
that I thought had said good bye.

Yet this is much more different
than I have experienced before
when sitting in my head
and looking through the doors

Your body, your smell and touch
are familiar to me now
as I play this game in my head
and wonder if this, I should allow

But I have returned and come too far
to turn and walk away
this secret place that I enjoyed
that saved me many days

Revisiting now with you in hand
it seems different to me somehow.
not a retreat from fear and pain
where I hid from misery, and cowered

This secret place you now share with me
has opened up anew
now full of colour ,fun and passion
and I know that it is all because of you.

So my friend, I 'd like to say to you
while visiting  with me
enjoy your stay, make it your home
this heart you stole, is now your key

You can visit often , think of it as home
In your hand you hold the magic key
but be careful how you treat it
it is delicate  and made of dreams

So all grown up and once again
inside an imaginary world, I hide
I play, I dance , I think and love
with you here by my side.
