| Crock Pot Cube Steak And Gravy 2 to 2 1/2 lbs. steak (salted and peppered) flour 1 pkg. onion gravy mix 1 can cream of mushroom soup 2 cups. water Dip steak in flour, fry until brown. Place in crock pot. Add water, soup and gravy mix. Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours. Excellent when served with mashed potatoes or rice. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Easy recipes Beef Tips 2 lbs. lean chuck roast, cut into 1" pieces 1 pkt. dry onion soup mix 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 cup 7up or similar (lemonade/ sprite) Place meat in crockpot. Do not season. Pour mushroom soup over mear and sprinkle onion soup mix on top. Add 7up. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Serve over noodles or rice. Freeze cooled beef tips in large freezer bag. Thaw and reheat. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Round Steak Italiana 1 1/2 pounds Round steak 15 1/2 ounces Spaghetti sauce w/mushrooms 1 teaspoon Salt 1/2 teaspoon Oregano 1/4 teaspoon Pepper 16 ounces Can whole small onions (or fresh) Cut steak into 5 or 6 serving-size pieces. Coat with salt, oregano, and pepper. In crock-pot pour spaghetti sauce over the meat. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 9 hours or until meat is tender. Turn control to high; add onions. Cook on high for 10 to 15 minutes. Serves 6. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Steak Roulade 2 pounds Flank steak 1 teaspoon Salt 1 teaspoon Pepper, or to taste 3/4 cup Onion, chopped 3/4 cup Bacon, diced 1/4 cup Water Trim fat off steaks. Season with salt and pepper. Mix onion and bacon, spread over each steak. Roll steaks (as you'd do for a jelly roll), tie rolls tightly in several places with a string. Put steaks into slow cooker. Add water. Cover pot. Cook on LOW for 8 hrs. If you want to serve this with gravy, remove meat when done, and thicken liquid with a mixture of flour and water; cook in crock pot (uncovered) on High for 15 minutes. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Swiss Steak 2 pounds round or Swiss steak, cut 3/4 inch thick 1 large onion, sliced 1 (LB) can tomatoes Salt and pepper to taste Cut Round steak into serving pieces; season with salt and pepper and place in crockpot with sliced onion. Pour tomatoes over all. Cover and set to Low for 8-10 hours. Variations: Creamy Swiss Steak: follow the above recipe substituting 1 (10-ounce) can mushroom soup for the tomatoes. Spread soup evenly over the top. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Swiss Steak II 1 to 1 1/2 pounds round steak 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1 4-ounce can mushrooms, drained (or use fresh sliced) 1 10 3/4-ounce can cream of mushroom soup, undiluted Trim visible fat from round steak and cut into 4 to 6 serving-size pieces. Pound to flatten and tenderize. Season with garlic salt and pepper. Place meat in bottom of slow cooker. Spoon drained mushrooms on top of steak, then spread mushroom soup over. Cook on low for 7 to 9 hours. Serve with rice or mashed potatoes and a salad or green vegetable. Serves 4 to 6. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
